Since 2006, the Bartlett Arboretum has pursued research as a vital part of the Arboretum’s daily activities. Many are surprised to hear that the Arboretum’s original purpose in the late 19th and early 20th century was to be the site for cutting edge research of the Bartlett Tree Company headquarters.
Today, the Arboretum’s research program includes floristics, plant ecology and invasive species. Since 2006, staff at the Bartlett have published several scientific papers. For details on our research projects and our herbarium, please visit the individual pages for these areas.
