Yoga in the Garden

Join us to practice the ancient art of yoga in the serene surroundings of beautiful flowers, shrubs and majestic trees. We will be taking in the sights, scents and sounds of the outdoor world the way yoga is traditionally practiced (when weather does not permit we will practice indoors).

Janak is a long time practitioner of yoga and a certified hatha yoga teacher. The goal of yoga is to rejuvenate the body, relax the nervous system and quiet the thought waves of the mind. Janak will lead you through physical poses(asanas) and breathing techniques(pranyama) to attain this goal.

Janak is also a Master Gardener at the Bartlett and will incorporate poses that are especially beneficial for gardeners and non-gardeners alike.

Classes held every Monday and Wednesday from July 2nd - August 22nd (except July 4th & 18th). All levels are welcome, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners.
Meditation for Everyone

Meditation can be practiced by anyone from any background or religion. In this non-religious, technique-based class you will finally learn what meditation is and how you can practice it at home. This special 3-week class is specifically designed to demystify this powerful tool that can help each of us deal with the stress and challenges of our lives, families, jobs, etc.

$15/class for Members, $20/class for Nonmembers. Call 203 322 6971 to reserve your spot.

Meditation class is taught seated in chairs, so no special dress code or fitness level is required.
