Homeschool Series - The Science of Snow Feb 07, 2013
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
The Science of Snow:
Why does the outside world become silent during a snow storm? What causes each snowflake to have its own unique pattern and shape? What kind of plants grow in places where it is winter all year round? We may not have a lot of snow on the ground here in Connecticut this winter but that won’t stop us from learning everything we can about winter’s greatest treasure.
The winter homeschool series will be a six week series that will meet on Thursdays in January, February and March from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Ages 5-11 are welcome to attend. Parents can stay for the program or drop off their children for the hour. Each class will consist of indoor and outdoor time; parents should plan for their children to spend some time outside in winter weather and should dress appropriately.
Series Dates and Topics:
1/24/13 -Rain Forest Ecology
1/31/13 - Desert Ecology
2/7/13 - Science of Snow/Water Cycle
