Our 3rd annual Honey Harvest Festival is dedicated to celebrating honey and learning about the important role bees play in our ecosystem. This festival includes family-friendly activities, honey and gin tasting & presentations, live music, food trucks, a marketplace featuring local vendors & artisans, a honey harvest demo, and the opportunity to explore the Bartlett’s trails & gardens.

THE HONEY HARVEST FESTIVAL IS FREE TO ATTEND FOR ALL AGES!


Please note, that parking at the Bartlett is limited and reserved for persons with disabilities and parents with strollers during this event. Additional parking is available at Scofield Magnet Middle School with quick, easy trail access to the event.

EVENT SCHEDULE

11:15 AM - Honey Tasting Join apicultural trailblazer C. Marina Marchese for a talk and tasting of her famed Red Bee Honey. Bartlett Members Only, Space is Limited. Register Here.

11:30 AM & 1:00 PM - Tree Walk with Master Gardener Dawn Fiss. Discover trees like the Charter Oak Descendant, Bartlett Chestnut and the 9/11 Survivor Tree Memorial.

12:00 PM - “Intro to Bees & Beekeeping” with author and beekeeper Howland Blackiston. Register Here.

Live Music - Ace & Friends, a southern CT band playing music by the Grateful Dead. Performing at 12:00 PM & 1:30 PM

12:30 PM - Gin Tasting & Talk with Barr Hill Gin's Ed Sherman. Learn how they perfected the use of raw honey in the distillery, capturing the countless botanicals foraged by honey bees into a bottle of gin.

1:00 PM - "Honeybee Flight and Sexual Reproduction" with Certified Master Beekeeper Bill Hesbach. Register Now.

1:00 PM - Yoga session on the Great Lawn, led by Dew Yoga. Please bring your own mat.

2:00 PM - Honey Harvest Demo. Join beekeeper and Bartlett advisor Paul Travaglino for a step-by-step demo of the honey harvesting process.

Mead Tastings - Sample Connecticut's own award-winning Barrett's Legacy Mead. All day...*until it's gone. For ages 21+ only. Also available for purchase.

Artisan & Vendor Marketplace - Across the Great Lawn and at the Silver Education Center festival goers can shop the wares of over 20 local artisans and small businesses. See below for more details!
