Members Only: Waking up your Garden

Spring is right around the corner. This workshop will give you the confidence and know-how to wake up your garden and prepare it for a healthy and successful growing season.

Instructor: Lisa Beebe.

Lisa Beebe is currently the Arboretum Project Curator for the Greenwich Tree Conservatory in Cos Cob, CT, a position she has held since 2017. For over 25 years, Lisa was the Director of Horticulture for the Greenwich Botanical Center, also in Cos Cob. While with the GBC, Lisa oversaw many major projects, including the construction of a new 575-square-foot Teaching Vegetable Garden. As the director, she lead an all-volunteer staff of 20+ to maintain a working greenhouse that houses special collections (orchids, geraniums), propagations, and sales inventory.

Lisa has advised and worked with the Town of Greenwich, Pollinator Pathways, Greenwich Land Trust, and the Greenwich Community Gardens, to name a few. She is a coveted speaker and instructor at several environmental and horticultural organizations and events throughout the region. In 2005 she received the Garden Club of America(GCA) Certificate of Acknowledgement for sharing her horticulture knowledge with the Community. In 2015, she received GCA Horticulture Commendation in appreciation to her commitment to Horticulture education.

Lisa attended the University of Rhode Island, where she earned a BS in Resource.
