Power Yoga and Planting Program

  • Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens 151 Brookdale Road Stamford, CT 06903 (map)

Bartlett Arboretum is partnering with Connecticut Power Yoga (via their 200-hour yoga teacher training program) to raise money to benefit the Bartlett’s outreach programs with the Inspirica Youth Center, an organization fighting the cycle of homelessness in Stamford.

This one-of-a-kind event will combine a 60-minute Power Vinyasa Yoga journey inside the Bartlett classroom, followed by a grounding, meditative seed planting activity, where you will be getting your hands dirty and planting a variety of culinary herbs from seed. The herbs you plant will be divided amongst Bartlett’s vegetable garden, various local community gardens, and the garden at Insprica’s Youth Center. Please bring your own yoga mat and water bottle - all planting materials will be provided!

For ages 12+. $20 for members, $30 for non-members.

Instructor bio: Samantha is one of Connecticut Power Yoga's latest 200-hour yoga teacher trainees set to graduate in late March 2024. Before her teacher training, she interned at Twin Star Herbal Education and Apothecary in New Milford and graduated with her B.S. in Health Promotion, concentrating in Holistic and Integrative Health. When she’s not flowing on her mat or tending to her plant collection, you can usually find her on a community theater stage, petting a dog, or eating sushi in her pajamas.
