What is a notable tree? What role can you play in preserving Stamford's natural heritage? Join Lisa Beebe, Arboretum Curator for the Greenwich Tree Conservancy for a walk and discussion of Connecticut's Notable Tree Project. The tour will center around the important role the Bartlett plays in the state’s natural history.
Since 1985, the Notable Trees Project has been collecting and distributing information about Connecticut's largest and most historic trees, both native and introduced. The project aims to educate citizens about the importance of Connecticut's natural heritage and preserve it. This work is a volunteer enterprise sponsored by the Connecticut Botanical Society, The Connecticut College Arboretum, and the Connecticut Urban Forest Council.
For the past two years, Lisa and the Greenwich Tree Conservancy have been part of a team updating the Notable Tree list for the town of Greenwich.
