It is a natural progression to move from admiring plants to wanting to express their beauty in art. This class teaches you how to create a realistic botanical drawing using simple plants from around our homes or local markets. No prior drawing experience required! Classes will take place each Tuesday, beginning Tuesday, November 8.
You’ll learn to use graphite pencil in a variety of ways to achieve realism. Demonstrations and simple exercises emphasize key principles and drawing methods.
We will closely examine plant parts individually - stems, leaves and blossoms – to better understand their structure and surface details - and then bring them all together for a complete drawing. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own materials. A materials list and Zoom link will be provided.
