The Loft Artists Association is hosting a new art exhibit titled, “Lost and Found” at the Bartlett, with an Opening Reception on Sunday, April 10 from 2-4PM. “This year’s exhibit will highlight work that is inspired by and includes found or recycled objects and materials,” LAA Director, Mark Macrides stated. “Many of our artists already work with a variety of materials and others have challenged themselves to incorporate found and recycled materials into their work.” Some of the pieces will be 2 dimensional and affixed to the wall while others will be sculptural. This dynamic and diverse collection of work will highlight the mantra of “reuse, recycle, repurpose.” Visitors can expect to see work incorporating cardboard, metal, rope, interesting papers, old books, and photography.
Founded in 1978, The Loft Artists Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing artists with a supportive environment and opportunities to exhibit their work in professional galleries. The LAA reaches out to the community at large with education and artistic expression, as well as collaborative projects. Events at the galleries and studios have attracted thousands of visitors throughout the tristate area, garnering city and state funding agencies, as well as corporate and private sponsors. The LAA’s educational mission includes workshops and classes, artistic demonstrations, and many opportunities for the community to see the creative process firsthand. This exhibit is partially funded by the Stamford Arts and Culture Grant and the CT Humanities Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant.
